Former Australian captain Michael Clarke has thrown his support behind Shaun Marsh to get first crack at the vacant opening Test spot after the retirement of Chris Rogers.
Marsh scored 109 from 104 balls in Monday's Matador Cup clash with South Australia, as he shared in a record Western Australian one-day opening partnership of 216, with fellow opener Cameron Bancroft.
โI would like to see Shaun Marsh certainly get an opportunity. I still think he has got a lot of runs left in him,โ he said.
โThe advantage with someone like Shaun is he can bat anywhere in the order, so if he doesn't open the batting I'm hopeful they will find a place for him.
โI've always been a big fan of Shaun and I'd like to see them keep the faith there.โ
