The all electric racing series, Formula E is returning to Buenos Aires on the 18th February 2017, the third race of the 2016/2017 season, and DS Virgin Racing's newest recruit, former triple WTCC champion and local Argentine hero, Jose Maria Lopez, couldn't be happier.

This will be the third time the series has visited Argentina's Puerto Madero circuit and if it is anything like the first two held here, fans are certainly in for a treat!

We saw some incredible action at this venue and last season saw eventual series champion, Sebastien Buemi, fight his way through from last on the grid to finish second behind Sam Bird. It's not only the only track action that makes this venue so special as the fans really make the entire event with their passion, enthusiasm and knowledgeable.

South America has deep roots in motorsport and many champions across a number of categories, including three-time WTCC champion and DS Virgin Racing driver Jose Maria Lopez. The atmosphere in the city will be incredible for Pechit's, as he is affectionately known, home race – and he knows it…

“I'm very happy to be here finally presenting this race in my country,” he said. “The motivation and passion for cars continues to grow. The challenges that come from Formula E and all the other things that influence the performance of the car, from the tyres to the FanBoost. I want to thank the Argentine people because I'm really happy when I woke up and I see the FanBoost!”
