Triple Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton has no idea who his new Mercedes teammate for the upcoming 2017 season will be, however he has stated that whoever the team decide to sign on in place of Nico Rosberg will need to be a Mercedes man ‘through and through'.

“I'm waiting for all the bosses here. They're keeping it very secret,” he stated at a press event in Sindelfingen. “I just hope the next driver who joins us has Mercedes through and through and is ready to work together.

One other thing Lewis believes his new teammate must be able to do, beside have excellent race craft, is to know how to develop the car.

While most Formula One drivers give feedback to the team on how the car is behaving, there are some that can help with the actual development, like Lewis himself or seven time world champion, Michael Schumacher,

Therefore, in order to stay at the top of their game, the newcomer will need how to help them stay ahead of the chasing pack…

“Next year is a new car and we really need to use experience to be able to develop this car and stay ahead of the Red Bulls and Ferraris. We go into another season in 2017 and I'm going to be giving it everything to keep Mercedes on top.”
