Coach David Saker slammed Victoria's batting performance as โnot good enoughโ after the Bushrangers suffered a 56-run loss in Friday night's Matador Cup elimination final against South Australia.
The pressure of chasing 251 to win on a slow-paced pitch at Sydney's Drummoyne Oval proved too much for Saker's Bushrangers.
They were bowled out for 194 in 46.4 overs, losing 9-75 after a 113-run stand for the second wicket between Rob Quiney (71 off 99 balls) and Marcus Stoinis (56 off 102).
Pace bowler Kane Richardson took 3-26 for the Jamie Siddons-coached Redbacks who will face NSW in Sunday's final at North Sydney Oval.
Alex Ross was named man of the match for his unbeaten 97 in South Australia's 7-250.
โI'm very disappointed. With that sort of talent in the room, we shouldn't be losing 9-75,โ Saker said.
โWe knew it was going to be a bit tougher batting second on that wicket but we didn't give ourselves the best chance.
โWe got a decent start but we chewed up some balls and that put a bit of pressure on the back end. That's not good enough.โ
