Cricket Australia has instructed Victoria to rest James Pattinson from tomorrow's Sheffield Shield clash with NSW, and Bushrangers' coach David Saker is not happy.
Pattinson has battled several injuries over the past two years and Cricket Australia intend to manage his workload in order to get the talented fast bowler back into the international set up.
However, Saker said Pattinson needs to play more games to regain his best form, not less.
"They (Cricket Australia) make that decision and they think it's the best call for him, so we have to back it up," Saker told News Limited.
"He's unhappy about it โ because he just wants to play cricket. It's pretty frustrating for him.
"Last year he was pulled out of quite a few games ... he needs to play cricket to get better.
"He's going really well at the moment, so it's frustrating that we have to pull him out of this game, but he understands where they're coming from and we're working with Cricket Australia.
"But it can be frustrating at times, no doubt."
