The Los Angeles Rams will be without star wide receiver Davante Adams for 6-10 weeks as the Rams' frustrating start to the season continues.

Adams appeared to injure himself on the very last drive in their loss to the Arizona Cardinals when the 33-year-old started hopping in the end zone before limping off to the sideline.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday morning, Rams head coach Sean McVay confirmed that Adams' had suffered a ruptured hamstring, an injury that could keep him out for up to 10 weeks.

It's another untimely setback for an already depleted Rams side.

Defensive tackle Poona Ford will miss the rest of the season with a ruptured tricep, while kicker Blake Grupe will also miss the rest of the season with a knee injury. DT Kobie Turner is guaranteed to miss four weeks with a groin injury, and star defensive end Myles Garrett is still away from practice this week, after having knee surgery following the team's Week 1 loss to the 49ers in Australia.

"The first thing is you feel terrible for these guys," McVay said.

"Those guys are key contributors for us, so there's a lot of emotions.

"But the first thing is support these guys, be there for them, and then the next thing is make sure that we figure out what's the best way for our team to be able to move forward in the absence of some critical factors for us."

Through the first six weeks, Adams has been the Rams' receiving leader with 480 yards and is the only pass catcher with multiple touchdown receptions (four).

He has been a crucial part of the offense, especially for quarterback Matthew Stafford, who has had to turn to him more often than not. The Rams' star wide receiver, Puka Nacua, also missed the first two weeks of the year with injury.

A six-week recovery would see Adams return to the field before Christmas, while 10 weeks would mean he would be back in time for their last two regular-season games in January.

The shock loss to the Arizona Cardinals takes the Rams to a 2-4 record, astonishing considering they were heavily picked favourites to make - and win - the Super Bowl.

The Rams next face the 3-3 Las Vegas Raiders, at Allegiant Stadium, in Week 7 on Monday 26th October at 7:25am AEDT.
