Philadelphia Eagles star quarterback Jalen Hurts is out for the remainder of the season after several blood clots were discovered in his lungs.
The Eagles' Super Bowl LIX MVP had been undergoing tests for days following a contact incident the week before, reports ESPN insider, Ian Rapoport.

Ahead of the Eagles' international game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London, Hurts was hospitalised until 4am after clots were discovered. He played the game - despite being told not to sleep - after being given approval by club medical staff.
Jalen Hurts injury timeline
On October 5th, Hurts was hit in the calf by a boot in a game against the Rams. He practiced the whole week before asking for treatment on his calf following the team's Thursday practice.
After the flight to England for the London game, an ultrasound found a superficial blood clot in his calf, with doctors saying he was available to play.
He was in a London hospital until the morning of the international game, staying awake until kickoff because doctors told him sleeping was a risk with the clot.
Hurts started and played the entire game against the Jaguars, although he didn't come out onto the field until right before kickoff, and kept mobile on a stationary bike on the sideline between drives, both because of the calf.
He threw 220 yards and a touchdown in the loss, with on a 57-yard field goal shattering the Eagles' hopes. A follow-up ultrasound post-game showed the clot had moved.
On October 16th, the Eagles ruled him out against the Carolina Panthers, and three days later, backup QB Tanner McKee started in his place in a 25-14 loss.
New imaging over the weekend found several blood clots in his lungs.
Philadelphia Eagles and Nicole Lynn statement
A statement released on behalf of the Philadelphia Eagles and Jalen Hurts' agent, Nicole Lynn, detailed the Super Bowl MVP's condition.
Lynn and the Eagles said Hurts has deep vein thrombosis and bilateral pulmonary emboli, meaning a blood clot had traveled from his legs to his lungs.
"Over the past few days, Jalen Hurts has received comprehensive medical evaluations by physician experts," the statement starts.

"In the interest of transparency, we are providing additional information on the diagnosis and treatment plan related to his condition.
"Jalen was initially diagnosed by specialists in London with a left calf superficial vein thombrosis. After further testing and monitoring, the current diagnosis is a deep vein thrombosis, as well as bilateral pulmonary emboli. He is clinically stable and has no significant functional limitations. His treatment should only involve anticoagulation (i.e. "blood thinners"]. During this time, he will not be allowed to participate in any contact activities, including football.
"Jalen's prognosis is very good, and we expect a full recovery. We anticipate that he will have the opportunity to resume contact football activities when off the blood thinners. in the meantime, he will remain active around the team and continue to condition. More importantly, we anticipate that he will have no long-term effects.
"We are thinking of Jalen and looking forward to a strong recovery."
Hurts hadn't missed more than two games in a season since replacing Carson Wentz as Philadelphia's starting quarterback.
He is already the fourth-leading passer in franchise history and has led the Eagles to two Super Bowl appearances and a victory in Super Bowl LIX, where he was named MVP.
