US president Donald Trump has criticised NBA superstar LeBron James after footage appeared to show the Philadelphia 76ers forward continuing his pre game warm up during the American national anthem.
The incident occurred before Philadelphia's season opener against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on October 20, when James appeared to practise a golf like swing movement as well shooting movements, while his teammates stood still during the anthem.
Trump took to Truth Social, an American alt-tech social media platform owned by Trump Media, accusing James of disrespecting the United States and demanding an apology to American military personnel and fallen service members.
"I said right from the beginning that he's no good, a TOTAL DISGRACE," Trump said.
LeBron James should apologize to all of those Great American Warriors and Heroes who died for the American Flag and all that our country stands for," Trump said.

The pair have clashed publicly over the years, particularly regarding James' views on social and political views. The latest incident has reignited debate surrounding athletes' conduct during national anthems, an issue that has repeatedly attracted attention. At the time of reporting, James has not publicly responded to Trump.
Despite the incident, James helped the 76ers to a six-point win against the Knicks, with James finishing with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists.
