Round 3 of the NBL season saw some amazing games, even with there being a shortened number of games due to the NBL vs NBA event.

It all began on Thursday Night with the Adelaide 36ers heading over to Cairns to face off against the Taipans.

Bryce Cotton and the 36ers stomped their foot down as they secured the 110-79 point victory. The 5-time NBL MVP was phenomenal as he led the way with 28 points, along with his seven assists and five steals.

Recruit Flynn Cameron also added 20 points, while veterans Isaac Humphries and Dejan Vasilijevic added 19 points each.

The second game on Thursday Night was more competitive, with the Perth Wildcats holding onto a 92-84 point victory against the Illawarra Hawks.

The game saw the two big recruits, Jo Lual-Acuil Jr. and Javale McGee, face off in an epic battle. Lual-Acuil led the Wildcats with 22 points, teammate Dylan Windler put up 16 points and 14 rebounds, while Kristian Doolittle added 15 points.

McGee led the way for the Hawks as he had 26 points and 14 rebounds, while his star point guard, Tyler Harvey, also put in 19 points.

There was no official game on Friday night, but there was still some NBL action with Melbourne United playing the New Orleans Pelicans in an exhibition event. The Pelicans held on to a 10-point victory, but there were great signs for United.

Milton Doyle looked quite comfortable as he had a game-high 25 points, and young gun Dash Daniels really impressed across the board in front of the world.

Saturday gave us another doubleheader of NBL hoops. It all started with the Sydney Kings hosting the New Zealand Breakers. Star Kendric Davis led the way with an efficient 28 points. While the big man Tim Soares put in 16 points and 8 rebounds.

The last game of the round was an intense one, marked by some questionable decisions that ultimately ended the game. The road warriors, the Tasmania JackJumpers, were able to storm into Brisbane to defeat the Bullets 84-82.

Former Bullet Josh Bannan led the way with 23 points and 15 rebounds, while new injury replacement player TJ Starks put in 18 points off the bench after just landing in Australia. Bigman Will Magnay was also important, adding 13 points along with his clutch defensive stops.

2022 NBL MVP Jaylen Adams led the way for Brisbane as he put in 19 points and seven assists, while guard Taine Murray had a breakout game to add 17 points.

Sunday saw only the exhibition match, with the New Orleans Pelicans now taking on the South East Melbourne Phoenix. The Pelicans looked more comfortable out there, securing a 35-point victory. Nathan Sobey led the way for the Phoenix with 16 points and five assists.

With a short round in the NBL, Round four will see more action. It all kicks off on Wednesday with a doubleheader of Breakers vs Hawks and Kings vs United.
