Current WWE Intercontinental Champion and AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio admits that it would be a "full circle moment" if he has the chance to face John Cena one final time before he hangs up the boots on his in-ring career.

An icon of the WWE for well over two decades, Cena is nearing the final stages of his wrestling career, with only three dates remaining on his farewell tour, including Survivor Series on November 29 and his final retirement match on December 13.

With his next opponent up in the air, there have been whispers for several months that Cena may challenge Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship due to it being the one title that he has yet to win during his illustrious career.

Reportedly discussed backstage, reports from several outlets have stated that there have been "very serious conversations" about Cena and Mysterio matching-up in the squared ring.

Speaking to Zero Digital Sports, Mysterio admitted that he would love the chance to face Cena again due to it being a full-circle moment and one of his first matches being a tag-team showdown with Cena and his father, Rey Mysterio.

"If I could wrestle John Cena, it would definitely be a full circle moment for me," Mysterio told Zero Digital Sports.

"I started as a babyface tag teaming with him and my deadbeat dad against Roman and The Usos when we first came back from the pandemic."
