Round 4 of the NBL gave us further insight into what teams are shaping up to be contenders, while we saw our first action of the new Ignite Cup in-season tournament.
It all started on Wednesday night with our Ignite Cup double header.
The New Zealand Breakers got their first win of the season in dominant fashion as they beat the Illawarra Hawks by 29 points.
Star import Peter Jackson-Cartwright set a Breakers record of most assists in an NBL game with his 17 assists. He also added 20 points, which secured him the player of the game title. Big man Sam Mennenga also produced a 20-point game.
The second game of the night saw Melbourne United continue their elite play with a 107-93 win over the Sydney Kings. Tyson Walker had an outstanding game as he put in an efficient 27 points to lead all scorers.
Jesse Edwards was huge for United with his double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds. Sydney's bright spot was stars Kendric Davis and Xavier Cooks, both scoring 21 points.

Thursday night had one game of action where Adelaide handled business at home against the JackJumpers with a 98-89 point win.
MVP Favourite Bryce Cotton was amazing with 29 points and nine assists. His running mate, Isaac Humphries, scored an efficient 24 points.
The JackJumpers nearly came home with a victory as Bryce Hamilton led the way with 22 points and nine assists. Will Magnay and Josh Bannan combined for 31 points, but it wasn't enough.
Move on to Friday night with the Perth Wildcats holding on to a three-point victory against the Cairns Taipans. Star Jo Lual-Acuil Jr led the way with 30 points and 10 rebounds, while Dylan Windler added 26 points and 11 rebounds.
Andrew Andrews put in 21 points for Cairns, while Marcus Lee had a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Saturday night's double header was not as interesting, with two games turning into blowout wins, starting with the Hawks beating the Brisbane Bullets by 27 points.
Tyler Harvey led the way with 22 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds, while the Hawks had seven different players score double figures.
The short-handed Bullets didn't have much hope, with only Casey Prather putting in 28 points.
In Kendric Davis' return to Adelaide, the Kings had his back, helping secure a 24-point win. Kouat Noi was big time off the bench with 29 points in 24 minutes, as Davis put in his own 22 points.

Sunday action also had two games, with it starting off with a close one. As the South East Melbourne Phoenix secured an 87-81 point victory in enemy territory against the Breakers.
Owen Foxwell was huge with 19 points and seven assists, and Nathan Sobey had a similar game with his 18 points and seven assists. Phoenix had all starters score in double figures in their victory.
Sam Mennenga was the only hope for the breakers as he had 29 points and 11 rebounds.
Round four ended with Melbourne United continuing their undefeated season with a 35-point victory against the Taipans.
Star Chris Goulding returned for his first game this season, as he scored 16 points in 17 minutes off the bench. Jesse Edwards was huge again with his 16 points and 12 rebounds.
United now sit at the top of the ladder with an undefeated record of 5-0, with Adelaide and Perth sitting right behind them with 3-1 records.
