Ange Postecoglou's return to the managerial world could be sooner rather than later.

Fabrizio Romano, arguably the most credible football journalist in the planet, has claimed that Bayer Leverkusen and Fenerbahçe have "discussed" the possibility of bringing in the Greek-born Australian manager.

With Leverkusen's sacking of Erik Ten Hag after only three matches, and the self-proclaimed 'Special One', Jose Mourinho, leaving Fenerbahçe after failing to qualify for the Champions League, both clubs need to bring in a manager with proven success to salvage their respective seasons.

Postecoglou certainly fits the mould.

He delivered Tottenham Hotspur their first piece of silverware since 2008, winning the Europa League with a 1-0 victory over Manchester United in May. However, he was ultimately sacked after the club's poor performance in the Premier League.

Known for his trademark "never stop" attacking-minded style of play, success has followed the 60-year-old wherever he goes, including a domestic treble with Celtic FC, a J1 League title with Yokohama F. Marinos, and two A-League Championships with Brisbane Roar, among many other accolades.

Since his sacking, Postecoglou has been linked to Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli, as well as MLS outfit Los Angeles FC. However, it is widely believed that he would only return to the dugout for an opportunity in Europe.
