Former Australia leg spinner, Stuart MacGill, is set to assist Bangladesh during the upcoming Test series against Aussies.
Bangladesh coach Chandika Harthurusingha revealed on Thursday MacGill was spending time with the team to get some inside knowledge on the tourists.
“We have made some progress in Test cricket. Now we have the game-plan of winning in the subcontinent. We want to win the two Tests against Australia,” Hathurusingha said.
“MacGill is here for three months to see, and if he is happy and the players are benefiting, it will be long-term.
“We didn't have a spin bowling coach since (Ruwan) Kalpage left us. We need that help, as that's a specialised area,” he said.
“Working, for me, is easier because all these guys are good coaches and they know what they are doing.”
MacGill played 44 Test matches for Australia, taking 208 wickets at an average of 29.02.
The first Test between Australia and Bangaldesh begins on August 27 in Chittagong.
Bangladesh is now ranked No.9 in the world in the Test rankings, while Australia is third, behind South Africa and India.
