English allrounder Ben Stokes has officially signed with New Zealand domestic side, Canterbury.
Stokes is set to play for Canterbury in a competitive match this weekend, as he ramps up preparations for a possible Ashes return as Police continue their investigation into his late night brawl in Bristol in late September.
Reports have continued to grow the past few weeks that Stokes will make his return to the England side for the third Test in Perth.
The 26-year-old will play for Canterbury in the side's opening game of the NZ domestic one-day season against Otago on Sunday.
Stokes currently remains suspended from international cricket pending the outcome of the Police investigation.
