New Arsenal signing Petr Cech has been heavily abused online after moving from reigning Premier League champions Chelsea to bitter rivals Arsenal.

Cech signed a four year deal with Arsenal worth $20 million Australian dollars, after an 11 year career with Chelsea, which yielded 13 major trophies.

However, Cech has recently been restricted to back up keeper, after been overtaken for the number one jersey by young keeper Thibaut Courtois.

Despite Cech being a brilliant goalkeeper during his time at Stamford Bridge, since completing the move to one of Chelsea's fiercest rival in search of regular first team football, Cech has received several death threats and vile abuse from Chelsea fans on social media.

Some twitter users have labelled Cech as a 'traitor' and a 'snake', while one fan even directed a tweet towards his family with his post reading: 'Say goodbye to your family for one last time before they go to sleep, you won't be seeing them tomorrow you snake idiot.'

That fan has since had his Twitter account removed.

Another tweet read: 'I'm going to bring my SR-25 rifle to the Bridge when we play Arsenal. Will be so good to see Cech's blood on the pitch.'

The disgusting tweets continued with  another fan tweeting: 'F*** you Petr Cech you f***ing snake, can't believe you went to f***ing Arsenal. Really wish Stephen Hunt ended your life. F***ing C***.'
