Chelsea striker Diego Costa has been charged with violent conduct following Chelsea-s 2-0 win over Arsenal on the weekend.
Costa put his hands on the face of Arsenal's Laurent Koscielny and also clashed with Gunners' defender Gabriel, who was sent off.
Gabriel was also charged with improper conduct by the FA , and both clubs were charged with failing to control their players.
Arsenal will appeal the red card and the charge, while Chelsea have until the end of the day on Tuesday to decide if they will appeal Costa's ban.
If Costa accepts the ban, he will face an automatic three match suspension, as will Gabriel if he is unsuccessful in his appeal.
