Alex de Minaur has secured victory for Australia over Poland in the Davis Cup, progressing the host nation to the qualifying round of the cup next year.
De Minaur defeated Poland's Kamil Majchrzak 6-3 6-3 in a 3-1 victory for Australia, while Rinky Hijikata and Max Purcell triumphed over Jan Zielinski and Karol Drzewiecki in the doubles.
De Minaur made no mistake in backing up his 57-minute dominant opening win over Maks Kasnikowski and Australia's perfect start against Poland. The victory over Majchrzak was the perfect response De Minaur needed after a disappointing second-round exit at the US Open.

Heading into a 2-1 advantage over Poland, De Minaur needed to clinch a victory to send Australia into next year's Davis Cup Qualifiers, with an eye on the 2027 Finals in Italy.
In a post-match interview at a packed-out Pat Rafter Arena, De Minaur expressed his satisfaction with the win at home.
"It feels good to be back here in Brisbane... There's no place like home. What a weekend for Australia," De Minaur said.
"[I was] pleased with the way I played, pleased with how I bounced back from not my best US Open.
"It was very important for me to come here early, get some good training in, come back home, feel good about myself, be around this amazing team ... I'm super stoked."
It was Australia's first win in a Davis Cup tie in over 18 months, and their first on home soil since 2022.
Australia will move their focus to next year's qualifying round, with their opponent still to be decided by the International Tennis Federation draw. They will be expecting to play in early February 2027, following the Australian Open.
