New York Knick Derrick Rose has torn his left meniscus and will miss the remainder of the NBA season.

Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical reported the injury this morning, claiming the former MVP will miss at least 6-8 weeks.

Rose signed for the Knicks from the Bulls before the 2016-17 season. He currently averages 18 points and 4.4 assists per game for his new side. Since joining the Knicks, the former MVP has been ravaged by injuries.

By the end of this season, Rose would have played only 230 out of a possible 492 regular season games since he won the MVP in 2011.

The 28-year-old will become an unrestricted free agent at season's end. There were talks that he was going to be looking for a max contract, however, his latest injury may have affected those hopes.
