Novak Djokovic will return to the ATP Tour's China Open for the first time since 2015, as he looks to perform after recent early tournament exits.
Djokovic has confirmed his return to the tournament based in Beijing after an 11-year hiatus and will be looking to build towards his first Grand Slam in three years when he presents to the Australian Open at the start of 2027.
A first-round defeat to Argentina's Mariano Navone at the US Open sent shockwaves through the tennis world as Djokovic dropped to 12th seed.
That result came after his third-round exit in May at the French Open at the hands of Brazilian Joao Fonseca.
According to Sky Sports, Djokovic confirmed he will be competing in China via Instagram.
"I am excited to come back and perform in front of all of you at the National Tennis Centre - one of the nicest venues we have in tennis," scribed Djokovic.
Djokovic has been a six-time champion since last competing at the Beijing tournament in 2015.
Jannik Sinner is the last title winner and is looking to return to the competition this year after recovery is complete from a knee injury that has kept him out of the Canadian Open and the US Open. He last played at Wimbledon, where he defeated Alexander Zverev in the final.
Djokovic will be looking to avenge himself against Sinner after he knocked him out in the semi-finals of Wimbledon.
