Fabian Coulthard and Scott McLaughlin gave DJR Team Penske their first front row lock out at the Barbagello Raceway since 1989 this afternoon when Fabian continued to set the Perth track alight to secure a brilliant pole position. It is also the team's third front row lock out this season.
“It's a combination of the tyre and how good our car is at the moment,” said Coulthard. “It's a credit to everyone. They've given us quick cars and they're a pleasure to drive.”
Row two will see the two Red Bull Holdens side by side with Jamie Whincup the quicker of the two. Shane van Gisbergen did well to come back and qualify fourth after a wild moment on his initial fast lap that sawe him almost slam into the back of several slower cars.
The Kiwi did a brilliant job in saving what could have been a horrid accident. As a result there is still an ongoing investigation that wont be sorted until after this afternoon's race.
Row three goes to Chaz Mostert and Mark Winterbottom while Will Davison, Lee Holdsworth, Craig Lowndes and Todd Kelly rounded out the top ten.
