Perth Glory have signed Spanish winger Diego Castro Gimenez as the club's international marquee for this season.

The 33-year-old joins Perth after spending the majority of his career in La Liga in Spain.

He has had stints at Pontevedra, Malaga, Sporting Gijon and most recently, Getafe, where he made 129 appearances and scored 18 goals in four years with the club.

Coach Kenny Lowe said he is excited by what the Spaniard can bring to the squad.

"Diego has played in the highest leagues of Spanish football for a long period of time playing nearly 300 games and scoring around 60 goals, so there is no doubting his quality," Lowe said.

"He gives us another option in attack, and really enhances the squad for the coming season."
