The NBA veteran Steven Adams has indicated that the sport could take a hit once the highly anticipated video game GTA 6 arrives.
Adams has issued a warning to the sports world ahead of the release of the popular video game. According to Adams, November will be a difficult month for professional sports.
Speaking at the Houston Rockets' Media Day, Adams spoke about how players across various sports could see their performance drop once GTA 6 hits the market.
“I will say, you guys should anticipate November,” Adams said.
“The performance of the league, league-wide…GTA is dropping.
“So look at the NFL, look at all the leagues and watch them plummet, mate. Just for the month of November, performance is gonna go down.”
Adams's statement didn't stop with just the players, with the Kiwi star believing both coaches and scouts will find themselves distracted by the video game.
“The coaching and scouts are gonna be horrendous, mate,” Adams said.
“Just for November, but it should bounce back in December, hopefully. Should be good.”
Professional athletes have a demanding schedule, but they also spend significant amounts of time on the road and recovering between games.
Adams isn't limiting his prediction to just basketball, calling out the NFL as well. November could become the month that fans are wondering whether their favourite players are thinking about their next game or their next mission in Los Santos.
