Melbourne City defender Jason Hoffman is reportedly set to join former club Newcastle Jets.
Hoffman joined the then Melbourne Heart when the club first began in the A-League from the Newcastle Jets.
The 26-year-old has a year to run on his contract at Melbourne, but he is believed to want to seek opportunity elsewhere, with recent defensive signings, Ivan Franjic and Michael Zullo likely to keep him out of the starting side.
Hoffman was not part of Melbourne City's squad that traveled to the Gold Coast in preparation for Saturday night's clash with EPL giants Manchester City.
