Daniel Ricciardo will consider a switch to V8s or NASCAR in the future but the Australian Red Bull star has vowed to remain in Formula One until fulfilling his dream of becoming world champion.

Ricciardo joined foxsports.com.au from the UAE on Wednesday for a live Q&A with fans ahead the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at the Yas Marina Circuit.

He shared many interesting insights, including confirming his interest in NASCAR and revealing he'd love to one day try his hand at Bathurst in a V8 Supercar.

Asked to address reports he could move to NASCAR at the end of the 2016 season the 26-year-old replied: “No. Not yet.. nah I love F1 and still want to achieve a lot more in it so no plans to move anytime soon.

“Down the track it does interest me though. Been a fan of Nascar since I was young so its always appealed to me.”

On his interest in one day racing a V8s Supercar, he said: “Yeah would be fun. I think a lot of us here would love to do Bathurst.”

The ambitious driver also hinted he might one day follow in compatriot Mark Webber's footsteps and have a crack at the World Endurance Championship.

Asked by another fan exactly how long he planned to stay on in F1, Ricciardo made no secret of his ambition: “Until I achieve what I want to. WC (world champion)”.
