The 2017 season opening Supercar event, the Clipsal 500, wasn't the best start to the 2017 Championship for Craig Lowndes and the Team Vortex outfit, however the plan is now to go to the Albert Park circuit this weekend and repeat their podium finishes of 2016.

It may not be a points scoring event, but the plan is to show the rest of the grid that they have what it takes to be firm challengers this year.

Craig has raced around the Albert Park Circuit nineteen of the twenty times the series has raced  here and he is hoping that all his experience will prove fruitful in the four race events scheduled for this weekend.

“The Australian Grand Prix is always an exciting weekend,” he said. “We get to showcase Supercars in front of the world. We are always under a bit of pressure to perform, it is a great track, flat and fast.”

“They are only short races, but as always it gives us another opportunity to fine tune the way we operate throughout a race weekend. We always have a great audience and a good crowd that comes to watch. It is a very important weekend to have before we continue on with the championship.”
