Craig Lowndes has many good memories of the Perth Supersprint held at the Barbagallo Circuit, including last year, his debut season with the Team Vortex crew and he is looking forward to this year visit this weekend.
While the car may not be right up there at every round, Team Vortex is confident that they can provide the Supercar veteran with a fast car, good strategy and lightening pitstops. Put that all together with Lowndes' undeniable talent and you should have a winning formula!
“I always look forward to heading over to Perth,” Craig said. “The Barbagallo circuit is a challenging one, it has a very quick lap time and it's very important to get the car balance right. It certainly isn't a driver or braking-friendly track, it's all about getting the flow of the car right and looking after the tyres.”
“Since it's an older track, the bitumen surface wears into the tyres very quickly. Qualifying is always very important, just like Tassie, so it is important to qualify well ahead of the two races. I have always had great success here, as it is a track I like racing on."
There's only one thing that may cause issues and that is the super soft tyres that all three Red Bull cars struggled with at the last round in Melbourne.
