Brisbane Roar continue to be recognised for their brilliant start to the A-League season, with striker Jamie Mclaren named the Professional Footballers Australia player of the month for October.

Mclaren has been rewarded by his peers for an outstanding start to the season, in which he has scored three goals, provided two assists and had 19 shots on goal, the most of any player in the league.

Fellow Brisbane striker Brandon Borello was named October's young player of the month. The two have combined beautifully under new coach John Aloisi, scoring seven of the Roar's 10 goals to date.

“The season has started really well and I'm really enjoying my football and this award just tops it off,” 22-year-old Maclaren said.

“I would like to thank my teammates and the coaching staff who have made me feel so welcome at the club.”
