With the Hobart Hurricanes' victory over the Sydney Thunder on Monday night bringing an end to BBL|14, we're diving into who we believe deserves a place on this year's ultimate XI roster.

This season featured standout performances from both established stars and emerging talents, so here's a look at the players we think had the most significant impact.

  1. David Warner (c) Sydney Thunder

In his first full Big Bash season since retiring from international cricket, Warner's leadership was crucial in guiding the Sydney Thunder from last season's bottom-of-the-table finish to the final.ย

He ended BBL|14 as the second-highest run-scorer, amassing 405 runs across 12 innings.

Owen enjoyed a breakout season, ultimately claiming the title of highest run-scorer of the tournament.ย

The Tasmanian's stunning performance in the final sealed the deal, finishing with 452 runs and equaling the all-time Big Bash record for the fastest century, achieved in just 39 balls.

3. Cooper Connolly Perth Scorchers

The 21-year-old's ascent in the batting order this season showcased his composure, delivering a consistently strong performance as an allrounder, with his average runs exceeding 50.ย

By the end of the regular season, he was embarking on his first Test tour with Australia, looking to bring his reliability to the international stage.

4. Sam Billings (wk) Sydney Thunder

Billings is a rock-solid presence both behind the stumps and with the bat.ย

His 271 runs were pivotal in driving the Sydney Thunder to their first final since 2016. The English wicketkeeper also finished the season with 12 dismissals, setting a season record for the most dismissals in a match in December.

5. Glenn Maxwell Melbourne Stars

Maxwell's 325 runs over nine innings were instrumental in powering the Stars' resurgence after a tough five-game losing streak to start the season.ย

A longtime fixture in any dream T20 lineup, the 36-year-old surpassed 3,000 career BBL runs during this regular season.

David was a key finisher for the Hurricanes, averaging 42.33 and amassing 254 runs.ย

His consistent performances were often the driving force behind the Hurricanes' impressive seven-match winning streak.

7. Will Sutherland Melbourne Renegades

As an all-rounder, the Renegades captain showcased his batting firepower and bowling depth in critical moments, including the remarkable comeback victory over the Scorchers in Perth.ย

With 191 runs across nine innings and nine wickets to his name, Sutherland remains an underrated yet impactful leader.

8. Ben Dwarshuis Sydney Sixers

Dwarshuis' consistent wicket-taking and impressive batting average of 36.40 make him an invaluable asset to the Sixers.ย
