Nick Percat and his Brad Jones Racing team arrive in Townsville this week for the seventh round of the Supercars championship with a brand new look after teaming up with Hitch Uniglide Trailer coupling teamed for their latest one-off livery.
The yellow and white branding will feature not only on Nick Percats #8 Commodore, but also in one of the support categories – on Richard Mork's V8 Ute.
Joe McGinnes, inventor of the McHitch coupling and a former racer himself, used to drive his race trailer across the country, and after wearing out traditional tow balls and couplings in a single trip, he decided to look for something better.
When he couldn't find it, he made the ultimate product for the job and eventually had to retire from racing to keep up with the high demand for the McHitch equipment.
“It's great to have a family, regional based business like McHitch supporting a family team like Brad Jones Racing. Many of our supporters have trailers, caravans and even race trailers, and they want hassle free, safe towing, so to showcase the McHitch brand to our fans is pretty cool,” Nick said. “There's nothing else out there in these colours so we'll again stand out from the rest of the pack.”
Now Percat is focussed on the next round and after a positive result in Darwin last time out, he is hoping for more of the same in Townsville this weekend…
“After our podium finish in Darwin. I'm very much looking forward to getting on track in Townsville. The team have had podium finishes there before and with our increasing momentum I feel like we are in a good position to continue scoring some strong results for the team.”
