The Sauber F1 team have officially confirmed this morning that they will be making the switch from Ferrari engine power to that of the struggling Honda power unit in the 2018 Formula One Championship season.
This news has been rumoured for several weeks now but the majority of the paddock didn't put a lot of credence behind it due to the poor performances from the Japanese engine giant.
However, that said, another partner team can only help develop the engines at a greater speed, which in the long run will be a good outcome for all involved, including fans.
“It is a great honor for the Sauber F1 Team to be able to work together with Honda in the coming seasons,” Monisha Kaltenborn, CEO and Team Principal at Sauber said. “Our realignment is not just visible through the new ownership but also now with our new technological partnership with Honda."
