Wellington's loan deal for Birmingham City forward Alex Jones has been rejected by FIFA.
New Zealand Football confirmed on Tuesday that deal has been denied due to the transfer not being completed in time.
The club reportedly sent the relevant paperwork to NZF's offices on January 30, three days prior to deadline day, however, due to a public holiday on February 1st, the paperwork was not completed before the deadline on February 2nd.

Jones will now return to Birmingham City for the remainder of the 2015-16 season.
