The Chicago Bulls and Detroit Pistons have recorded wins on the opening night of the 2015-16 NBA season.
Detroit recorded a 106-94 win over the Atlanta Hawks at Philips Arena in Atlanta.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 21 points to lead all five Detroit starters, while Marcus Morris and Andrew Drummond both scored 18 points as the Postions notched a suprise win to get off to the perfect start. Drummond also finished with 19 rebounds.
Detroit finished 28 games behind Atlanta last season and have failed to record a winning season since 2008 but managed to pull away from the Hawks just after the half time interval, scoring 34 points to 23 in the third quarter after holding a five point lead at the main break.
Dennis Schroder top scored for Atlanta with 20 points, while Kent Bezemore finished with 19 points and eight rebounds for the home side.
The Pistons led by a game high 19 points, before the Hawks cut the deficit to 12 at the final buzzer.
The Chicago Bulls also got their season off to the perfect start, with a narrow 97-95 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.
LeBron James top scored with 25 points and 10 rebounds, but it wasn't enough to beat the side they knocked out of the Conference semifinals last season, with the Bulls holding on to record a two point victory with US President Barrack Obama watching on from the stands.
Nikola Mirotic scored 19 points and Derrick Rose scored 18 points for Chicago.
Australian Matthew Dellavedova managed 20 minutes game time, scoring six points and four rebounds.
