The EPL is in danger of losing its fourth UEFA Champions League spot if poor European performances continue this season.

English teams have failed to reach the quarter finals of the Campions League two of the past three seasons, meaning England could slip down the pecking order of UCL spots.

New co-efficient rankings that are calculated over a five year period rank each league in Europe.

The top three ranked countries receive four Champions League places.

England are currently ranked third behind Spain and Germany. However, if England have a similarly poor season to last season and Italian clubs have an impressive season, then the fourth placed Italians could jump ahead of England and grab four Champions League places next year.
