While MotoGP is gearing up for its first pre-2017 season test next week, Formula One fans have another month to wait before the new cars roll out.
The first official test of the season will take place at Spain's Barcelona Circuit on the 27th of February and it has now been confirmed that this session will include a wet tyre testing day.
While the FIA did grant sole tyre supplier, Pirelli, with a two day wet weather test running a mule car, the Italian company insists that teams get a taste of the new wet weather rubber ahead of the season opening Australian Grand Prix in March.

Spain have put eight past a helpless Liechtenstein in Group G of European qualifying overnight, as they won their first match under new coach Julen Lopetegui.
Diego Costa, David Silva and Alvaro Morata all scored doubles in the 8-0 thrashing, which was Spain's biggest win ever over Liechtenstein.
In the other matches in Group G, Italy and put three past Israel in a comfortable 3-1 victory, while the Albania and Macedonia match-up was called off.
The score was tied at 1-1 midway through the second half before bad rain stopped play. The match is scheduled to be completed on Tuesday.

Joe Hart kept Manchester City's hopes of reaching their first Champions League final alive with two brilliant late saves that ensured their semi-final first leg with Real Madrid finished goalless.
With star striker Cristiano Ronaldo missing because of a thigh injury, a cautious Real side offered little goal threat until the closing stages.
But in the last 20 minutes, Jese Headed against the bar for the Spanish side before Joe Hart brilliantly denied Casemiro and Pepe from corners.
Hart showed great reactions to keep out Casemiro's header with his foot but his block to deny Pepe, who was unmarked and five yards from goal, is the standout reason City will travel to Spain next week with a precious clean sheet.
The closest City came to a goal of their own was when Keylor Navas tipped over Kevin de Bruyne's dipping free-kick in stoppage time.

To date, the Russian GP has not looked too kindly on the Scuderia Ferrari Formula One team, however last year, Sebastian Vettel was second fastest in qualifying.
But, unfortunately, he then had to take a grid penalty and was later hit by Russian driver Daniil Kvyat, while teammate Kimi Raikkonen drove a great race to finish on the podium.
This year, after winning two of the opening three races, Vettel is aiming to continue his strong form and make it three victories from four starts.

On the eve of round four of the 2017 Formula One World Championship, the sports governing body, the FIA has made changes to the Sochi Autodrom in an attempt to stop drivers from cutting turn two.
New 50mm high orange speed bumps have been put in place at turn two to stop the drivers using run off area on the corner to get more acceleration into turn three.
The drivers have also been warned to stay within the confines of the track.
"Any driver who fails to negotiate Turn 2 by using the track, and who passes completely to the left of the orange kerb element on the apex, must then keep to the left of the second new orange kerb element on the edge of the artificial grass and rejoin the track safely at the start of Turn 3," a statement read.
It is not clear if drivers will be penalized if they fail to follow the above directions.

After Friday practice was all said and done there were a few raised eyebrows at the fact that Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes were more than six tenths of a second slower than the Ferrari of Sebastian Vettel.
With the raw pace we have seen from the Hamilton/Mercedes combination over the years, and even this season, it made many wonder if there was a little bit of sandbagging going on, even though there would be absolutely no reason for the Brackley based squad to do this.
When asked by Sky about the possibility of sandbagging, Lewis was quick to douse the flames….
“We never sandbag, there's no benefit to sandbagging ever - I think Ferrari have done it in the past, but there's zero benefit for us to do so, “ he said. “Today has generally been a tricky day so Ferrari is definitely the quickest, as they have been all year so far so we work hard this evening and tomorrow try and see if we can pick up some pace."
“We managed to complete everything that we needed to do on our runs, but in terms of the balance of the car, the Ferrari seemed very, very fast on the long runs, so we need to work out how we can improve our pace. But there's still everything to play for. The tyres feel very peaky, so it's easy to drop out of the window of performance. But when they're working they seem to be good.”
