Liverpool has drawn 1-1 in their opening match of their Europa League campaign, despite a wonderful goal from Adam Lallana to open the scoring.

Lallana danced his way through the Bordeaux defence with a beautiful nutmeg, before finishing into the bottom corner to give the Reds the lead in the 66th minute.

Bordeaux then equalised 15 minutes later through Jussie to make it 1-1.

“We can always be disappointed to not have won after having led, but in European football, picking up a point away from home is never a bad result,” Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers said after the game.

Fellow Premier league side Tottenham recorded a 3-1 win over Qarabag FK, with new signing Heung-Min Son netting a brace.
