Liverpool and Tottenham have both made it through to the Round of 32 in the Europa League after defeating their respective opponents on match day five.
First half goals from James Milner and Christian Benteke helped Liverpool recover from a Simon Mignolet mishap to send Bordeaux crashing out of the competition.
The Ligue 1 side took the lead just after the half hour mark when Mignole inexplicably held onto the ball for over 20 seconds, almost three times the amount allowed.
Henri Saivet then dispatched the indirect free-kick into the top left corner to silence the kop.
But Bordeaux's lead was cut short when Miner sent a cross in from the left looking for Benteke. The Belgian forward was bundled over by Ludovic Sane and Milner stepped up to equalise from the spot.
Benteke then turned superbly on the edge of the box before unleashing a brilliant volley past Cedric Carrasso with the last kick of the first half.
That's how it stayed all night and having now qualified, Liverpool have the chanve to clinch top spot in their group when they go to Sion on Thursday December 10.
The Reds now turn their attention to Swansea's Premier League visit on Sunday.
Earlier, Spurs made the long trip to Azerbijan to face Qarabag FK in Group J with victory ensuring qualification to the next round.
After a dull first half, the game burst into life, with Son Heung-min and Dele Alli sriking the woodwork before Harry Kane put the visitors in front with just over 10 minutes to play.
Spurs hung on to record the three points and will face Monaco next month with top spot in the group still up for grabs.
Tottenham will now prepare for their London derby clash with regining champs Chelsea on Sunday, who they thumped 5-2 in the corresponding fixture last season.
