The Perth Scorchers have signed England international Ian Bell for BBL06.
Bell is the second Englishman to join the franchise for the upcoming season, with David Willey returning for a second season.
“I'm delighted to be coming back to play in Perth for the Scorchers in this year's Big Bash,” Bell said in a statement.
“I love the city having played there earlier in my career and to work with Justin Langer will be superb.”
Coach Justin Langer said he is thrilled to be able to secure Bell's signature for BBL06.
“It's exciting to be able to add a player of Ian's top-level experience and quality to our squad,” Langer said.
“With 22 Test centuries and a One-Day International average close to 40, he'll bolster our batting options.
“He's played at the international level for more than a decade so he brings experience and leadership having captained his county side Warwickshire and the Birmingham Bears. We're delighted to have him on board.”
Bell has scored 7,727 Test runs in 118 matches, including 22 centuries.
He has also played 161 one-day internationals, scoring 5,000 runs.
The Perth Scorchers are currently favourites for this season's title, paying $5.50 to win the title with TopSport.
