Liverpool could only manage a point against Norwich, as Russel Martin cancelled out Danny Ings's first goal in a Reds' shirt.

Ings scored after being on the pitch for just three minutes, after he replaced striker Christian Benteke at half time with the scores locked at 0-0.

Ings controlled a lofted ball from Alberto Moreno with his chest, before finishing expertly on a tight angle to give the home side the lead.

However, the lead did not last long, with Martin equalising for Norwich just 13 minutes later.

Reds' goalkeeper Simon Mignolet unconvincingly punched away a corner, however, the ball fell to the Norwich centre-back, who struck the ball back past Simon Mignolet after controlling it on his chest.

Striker Daniel Sturridge got though his first outing in nearly six months unscathed, managing 63 minutes.

The draw ends a run of two consecutive losses, however, Liverpool is now yet to win in their past five matches, heaping more pressure on manager Brendan rogers.

Meanwhile, French recruit Anthony Martial netted a brace for Manchester United to help the Red Devils come back from a one goal deficit to record a 3-2 win away to Southampton.

The win moved United up to second on the Premier League table.
