Two weeks in the NFL is a small sample, but it is enough to get people talking. Some guys have gone from question marks to must starts. Others were supposed to be the stars and have barely shown up. Here are the players who have surprised us the most.

The Good

Bryce Young

Young has looked like a different quarterback. In Week 1 he threw for 361 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in a loss to the Bears. In Week 2 he threw for 287 yards and three more touchdowns in a 34 to 3 win over the Falcons. That is 648 yards, six touchdowns and one interception through two games. Only Jake Delhomme in 2007 has also thrown three touchdowns in each of his first two games for the Panthers. Last season he averaged 188.2 passing yards per game.

Parker Washington

Washington is now the main man in Jacksonville. In the Week 1 win over the Browns he caught five passes for 83 yards and a touchdown. He finished as the WR11 that week with a 26.1% target share. In Week 2 he caught eight of 12 targets for 98 yards, and no other Jaguar had more than eight targets. He was a sixth round pick in 2023.

Jalen Coker

Coker went undrafted out of Holy Cross. In Week 1 he caught eight of nine targets for 138 yards and two touchdowns. That made him the top scoring PPR receiver of the week. In Week 2 he caught eight passes for 66 yards on nine targets. All of last season he had 33 catches for 394 yards.

Jaxson Dart

Dart has played one game so far, and it was a big one. He completed 23 of 29 passes for 230 yards and three touchdowns, and ran for 54 yards, in a 28 to 20 win over the Cowboys. He is the first Giant since Phil Simms in 1988 to get 200 passing yards, three passing touchdowns and 50 rushing yards in a game.

The Bad

Saquon Barkley

Barkley was the best back in the league two years ago, and the drop has continued. He rushed for 1,140 yards last season after 2,005 the year before. In Week 1 he ran 15 times for 83 yards with no touchdown, and 42 of those yards came on one run. In Week 2 he had four carries for nine yards and a shoulder stinger. That leaves him with 92 rushing yards and no touchdowns after two weeks.

Drake Maye

Maye finished second in MVP voting last season, so this start has been a shock. In Week 1 he threw three interceptions in a 13 to 10 loss to the Seahawks. All three came on deep throws, and he threw only one deep interception all of last season. In Week 2 he went 14 of 22 for 208 yards and another interception in a 20 to 3 win over the Steelers, with no passing touchdown from either team.

Colston Loveland

Loveland was expected to be a big part of the Bears offense. In Week 1 he had two targets and no catches, even though Chicago scored 59 points. He led the team with 34 routes that day. In Week 2 he had one catch for three yards on three targets, which is his season high. He caught 58 passes for 713 yards last year.

CJ Stroud

Stroud's numbers look fine, but the Texans are 0 and 2. In Week 1 he threw for 274 yards and two touchdowns but lost two fumbles in a 36 to 31 loss to the Bills. In Week 2 he threw for 353 yards but no touchdowns in a 20 to 6 loss to the Bengals, without Nico Collins. He was sacked four times in each game. It is the third time in four years under DeMeco Ryans that Houston has started 0 and 2.
