Labelled by many as the fifth major of golf, the Players Championship will get underway on Thursday, March 14 at TPC Sawgrass.

The tournament will run over four days, with the final day of play on Sunday, March 17 (running into the morning of Monday, March 18 Australian time).

Despite the absence of LIV golf players, the field is still high quality, with defending champion Scottie Scheffler coming in as the favourite to defend the title he took last year.

A total purse of $25,000,000 is on offer for the tournament.

How to watch the Players Championship in Australia on TV

In Australia, the tournament will be excuslively broadcast on Fox Sports.

Their coverage commences at 10:30pm (AEDT) on Thursday, March 14, and will run throughout each day of the tournament.
