Matt Ryan's Valencia is through to the Champions League group stage after beating Monaco 4-3 on aggregate.

Valencia lost 2-1 to Monaco in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League qualifier, but it was enough to see them through to the group stage, after a 3-1 win in the first leg at home.

Valencia opened the scoring in just the fourth minute through Alvaro Negredo and looked on track to cruise through. However, Andrea Raggi scored just 14 minutes later for the home side to level the score.

Marcelo Carillo then netted in the 75th minute, to the make the visitors sweat, with the home side just one goal away from sending the match into extra time.

However, Valencia just held on to advance to the group stage, thanks largely to Socceroo Matt Ryan's heroics in the first leg.

There was no such luck for fellow Socceroo Tom Rogic however, as his Celtic side went down 2-0 two Malmo, resulting in a 4-3 aggregate win to the Swedish side.

In other results, Dinamo Zagreb beat Skenderbeu 4-1, to advance 6-2 on aggregate, Tel Aviv and Basel drew 1-1, making it 3-3 on aggregate, with Tel Aviv advancing on away goals and Shakhtar Donetsk advanced 3-2 on aggregate after a 1-1 draw with Rapid Wien.
