Melbourne Victory has announced Carl Valeri as the club's new captain for the 2015-16 season!
Valeri, who joined Victory ahead of the 2014-15 season, will take over the captaincy from Socceroo Mark Milligan, who recently departed for UAE club Baniyas.
The 31-year-old played all 29 matches last season and was voted the Players' player of the year by his teammates.
"Melbourne Victory is a great club and has had great leaders and I look forward to leading this great team in our quest to defend the title this season," Valeri said.
"It's a great privilege to be named captain and I thank Kevin Muscat and the Board for considering me worthy of such an esteemed role within our football club."
