With Al-Ahli leading 1-0 in their ACL semi against Al Hilal, defender Salmeen Khamis, gave away one of the most comical and ridiculous penalties of all time.
Khamis, thinking that the ball was out of play, picked up the ball in the penalty area. However, the entire ball was not out.
As the entire ball needs to be over the line for the ball to be called out of play, the referee called Khamis for a handball and awarded a penalty.
But the drama didn't end there, with Al Hilal missing the penalty. However, they did manage to equalise late in the match to set up a tantalising second leg.
