Western Sydney Wanders have signed Spanish midfielder Andreu Guerao Mayoral on a two year deal.

The Spanish midfielder joins Western Sydney for the 2015/16 season, having spent the majority of his career playing in Spain.

Andreu was a product of the Barcelona youth system, spending a total of 12 years at the Catalan giants, making his first team debut in 2004 against Marseilles during a tour of France.

He has had stints at Sporting Gijon, Polonia Warsaw and Auckland City, before most recently playing for Spanish side Racing Santander for the past two seasons.

Western Sydney Wanderers CEO John Tsatsimas said he is thrilled to have a player of Andreu's quality join the club.

“Andreu has spent time at clubs such as Barcelona and Malaga and we're excited to add this sort of football pedigree to the playing squad,” said Tsatsimas.

“It is important to get players of the calibre of Andreu to add a significant backbone to our squad in the middle of the park.

“We look forward to welcoming Andreu to our Club when he arrives for pre-season training in the coming weeks.”
