After a very challenging Phillip Island weekend as well as a tough Tasmanian event where he was taken out on lap one of the first race, James Courtney and his Mobil 1 HSV Team have touched down at the Barbagallo Raceway in Perth for fourth round of the 2017 Supercars Championship.
There will be two races again this weekend, a 120km event on Saturday followed by a 200km race on Sunday and with tweaks made by the team's engineers since Phillip Island, the hope is that the car will be a lot more competitive this time out.
“The last two rounds haven't been ideal for us, with the crash in Tasmania and then the issues in Phillip Island, but it's not as doom and gloom as it may look,” Courtney said. “Perth's a very different track to the Island. It requires a lot of commitment, and a car that is stable with good drive. As a team, we are all working very hard to improve. Everyone has a part to plan, and everyone is firmly focused on getting the job done.”
So now it's time to turn the team's fortunes around and get back on track with some strong and valuable points finishes. However, being a Super Sprint round, the cars will be on the new super soft tyre that has never been used at this circuit before.
