Italian No.13 seed Roberta Vinci has been knocked out by world No.82 Anna-Lena Friedsam 0-6, 6-4, 6-4.

Vinci won the first set 6-0 as she looked set to advance, before Friedsam produced an astounding comeback to fight her way back into the match. The 21-year-old broke Vinci's serve five times in the last two sets, as she completed one of the best wins of her career.

The victory sends Friedsam's into the round of 16 of a Grand Slam for the first time in her career.

Friedsam will now face either No.4 seed Agnieszka Radwanska or American Monica Puig.

Meanwhile in the men's draw, No.9 seed Jo-Wilfred Tsonga has set up a mouthwatering clash with Japanese No.7 seed Kei Nishikori after both won their third round clashes on Friday.

Tsonga accounted for Pierre-Hugues Herbert 6-4, 7-6, 7-6, while Nishikori defeated Guillermo Farcia-Lopez 7-5, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4.
