One of Australia's most prominent red-ball star bowlers has reportedly been reported for a suspect bowling action after the Tour of Sri Lanka.
According toย The Daily Telegraph, spinner Matthew Kuhnemann has had his bowling action reported and will now undertake mandatory testing within the next three weeks to determine if he will be suspended.
This comes after he was the leading wicket-taker for Australia against Sri Lanka as they ended a 15-year drought in the sub-continent country.
Per the laws of cricket, a bowler is only permitted 15 degrees of flex with their bowling arm with anything more considered illegal - otherwise known as 'chucking' the ball.
It is understood that Australian cricket officials are shocked by the accusation and he may still be able to play for Tasmania in the Sheffield Shield while the results remain pending.
