George Bailey has revealed what he said to Dave Warner about reviewing his LBW decision during yesterday's 159-run loss to New Zealand.
Warner was given out LBW for 12 runs, which left Australia 3-39. However, replays showed that the ball would have sailed over the stumps.
Bailey and Warner had a mid-pitch chat regarding a possible review, before Warner trudged off the ground.
At the time, commentators questioned why Bailey had not instructed Warner to review the decision.
However, Bailey has revealed that he told Warner to review the decision.
"I said, 'What did it feel like?' And he said, 'High'. So I said, 'Go for it'. And he turned around and walked off," Bailey said on RSN Breakfast radio.
"So, I don't really know what more he wants from my end.
"At the end of the day all those things get spoken about, the first port of call is still the umpire I think. A lot gets written about DRS and who should be doing what but the umpire is there to make a decision and he made it."
Bailey said that the pair also discussed the dismissal after the match in the dressing room.
