India have confirmed their 15-man squad for the T20 World Cup, with the high profile inclusion of Jasprit Bumrah headlining the team.
Bumrah's inclusion however is offset by the loss of Ravindra Jadeja.
The star all-rounder, who has been a mainstay of India's national team for many years, and is regarded as one of the best T20 players in the world, will miss the World Cup in Australia, to be held during October and November, after recently suffering an injury during the Asia Cup.
Bumrah, who is an all-format bowler and one of the world's best, will return to the squad alongside another quick in Harshal Patel, who also missed the Asia Cup with a side strain.
India have named three more players who will aid in the quick bowling department, with Arshdeep Singh and Bhuvneshwar Kumar named, alongside hard-hitting all-rounder Hardik Pandya.
Three specialist spinners have also been confirmed in Ravichandran Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal and Axar Patel, giving India plenty of options with the ball.
Captain Rohit Sharma will once again lead the Indian batting line-up, which is as close to full strength as it can possibly be, and also includes KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik as the key players for their charge to Australia.
Intriguingly, Mohammad Shami has missed the 15-man squad and instead will join Shreyas Iyer, Ravi Bishnoi and Deepak Chahar as India's reserve players.
India play a pair of three-match T20I series ahead of the World Cup, hosting Australia and South Africa.
