Newcastle Jets have secured the signing of Brazilian midfielder Leonardo Vitor Santiago for the 2015-16 A-League season.

The 32-year-old spent 13 seasons in the Dutch Eredivisie, before stints at Red Bull Salzburg, Ferencváros and most recently 1860 Munich.

Newcastle coach Scott Miller said he is excited by what Leonardo can produce on the pitch for his new club.

“We are excited to have a player of Leonardo's experience and class joining our Club,” Miller said.

“Leonardo is a player that we believe will add craft and spark to our team, inspire and entertain our Members, and provide leadership through his actions."
